1.2 - GENERAL OPERATING PRINCIPLES AND CONFIGU-

RATIONS

1.2.1 - Equipment general operating principle

1.2.1.1 - Technical set up from the camera (maintenance)

The operator at the camera head can take over control of the equipment by opening the
lefthand door of the camera and pressing the lefthand arrow "<" on the mini-keypad. The
camera main technical and operating controls are then accessible to the operator (refer to
the TTV1657D maintenance manual). The controls are disabled on the control panels (the
"LOCK" light comes on). The indications still active inform the control panel operators of
the status of the equipment.

1.2.1.2 - Set up from a control panel

1.2.1.2.1 - Principle of operation of the panels

Potentiometer control

To confirm a potentiometer control (partial blacks, partial gains, contour level, saturation
level, etc., with the exception of modification of the lens iris aperture), or to confirm video
monitoring controls (PM), press the "LOCK" key to unlock the control panel "LOCK"
light off).

The parameters accessible via the potentiometer controls take on the final values resulting
from a sequence of commands coming, if necessary, from several control panels. Each
action alters the last value stored.

"On/off" controls and lens aperture control

To change an "On/off" control or to alter the lens iris aperture, press the "LOCK" and
"ACTIV" buttons on the control panel successively. The potentiometer controls and the
video monitoring controls are then enabled.

The lens iris aperture is set by the control on the last control panel, placed in the "ACTIV"
mode. This function is not shared. Therefore, allowance must be made for the fact that, on
takeover of the equipment by another "ACTIV" mode control panel, the image brightness
may vary notably depending on the position of the iris aperture monocontrol.

The order of priority is established between the various consoles (according to internal
switching functions made on installation: a control console cannot change the "On/off" or
iris aperture controls if a control panel of a higher level is in the "ACTIV" mode.
