The video level indication can also be obtained by placing the profile oscilloscope in
service by placing the "ZEBRA-MARK" switch on "ZEBRA" twice. At this moment, the
RH vertical line indicates the 700 mV level, and the curve indicates the maximum value of
the signal, line by line.

NOTA: xx% is the zebra value fixed in maintenance. xx% must be about 70%.

5.2.2.5 - Special operating controls

If contrast is high, place the white automatic compressor in use ("KNEE MAN, AUTO" to
"AUTO").

If the contrast is too low, switch in the automatic black device ("ABL ON, OFF" to "ON").

If shooting a rapidly moving subject, place the "shutter" device in operation and select an
exposure time in inverse proportion to the rate of movement.

If shooting an asynchronous screen, place the "CLEAR SCAN" device in use, and select
an exposure time which suppresses the butterfly effect which can be seen in the viewfinder.

If it is desired to decrease detail, for example when shooting closeups to soften the lines of
a face, place the "DFZ" system in operation.

5.2.3 - On the video recorder

5.2.3.1 - Inserting the video cassette

Check that the "HUMID" light on the recorder is off.

NOTE: Avoid sudden changes in temperature, which may cause condensation liable to

cause the tape to stick to the head drum.
To avoid this type of problem, remove the cassette whenever there is a risk of
condensation.
