User manual

DIAGNOSTIC: Function used to test correct operation of the various video processing

and power supply printed circuit boards. When selected, this function selects the test
signal (the operating parameters are stored and restored at the end of the diagnostic).

When the diagnostic is completed, the following readout is displayed:

To the right of the name of each board, either:

- "PASS" is displayed, indicating that the board is operating correctly, or
- "BAD" is displayed, indicating that the board is defective.

EFFECT FILTER: Effect wheel electrical control.

NOTE: If the camera is not fitted with effect filters, this control is inoperative.

GO TO BASIC MODE: Enables changeover from the "CUSTOM" to the "BASIC"

mode.

H PHASE: Used to adjust the horizontal phase of the camera time base when the latter

is slaved to the GEN LOCK signal. This setting enables in-phase horizontal signals to
be obtained at the mixer input.

IRIS OFFSET: Used to alter the iris aperture in the IRIS AUTO mode, over the range

+ or - 1 diaphragm (0 to + 100 setting).

KNEE: This control adjusts the white compression device (knee) which, over a reduced

dynamic, restores the most strongly illuminated parts of the picture while conserving the
colorimetry of the compressed areas.

- AUTO position: this is the content of the image whose level is above the nominal

level which automatically determines the knee (dynamic compression) threshold,

- MANU position: the knee threshold is set to 700 mV (adjustment in maintenance

mode).

It is recommended to use this control in the AUTO position during high contrast shooting
(e.g.: against light).

MASTER PED: Master black pedestal adjustment.
