You can select the effect level among “1” to “5.”
The higher value enhances the effect.

Checking the sampling
frequency and bit rate

You can check the sampling frequency and bit rate of
digital audio during playback.

¶ During playback

Press and hold down AUDIO-fs/Rate for a few
seconds.

The sampling frequency and bit rate of the current
digital audio are shown in the display window
temporarily. When the audio is recorded using a
surround audio format, the sampling frequency
and bit rate are shown for the front speakers, then
those for the center and/or rear speakers.

(Example)

* The meanings of the channel group indications

on the display window are as follows.
L•R:

Front speakers

SR:

Rear speakers

C:

Center speaker

SR•C: Rear and center speakers

The sampling frequencies indicated are as follows:
44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192 (kHz). Note that any
figure below the first decimal place is omitted in
the display window.

Effect level

NOTES

• To dismiss the 3D PHONIC window:

Press 3D PHONIC.

• The 3D PHONIC window disappears if no operation is

made for about 10 seconds.

• The 3D PHONIC function works correctly only when

playing back a DVD VIDEO disc recorded with the Dolby
Digital. With other sources, you cannot get any effect if
you press the 3D PHONIC button.

• When playing back a DVD VIDEO disc recorded with the

Dolby Digital that does not contain the rear signal, you
cannot get a correct 3D PHONIC sound though you can
change the 3D PHONIC setting.

• The 3D PHONIC function does not affect the Dolby

Digital bitstream signal from the DIGITAL OUT jacks.

• When you set the 3D PHONIC function is active, the

“ANALOG OUT” and “D. RANGE COMPRESSION”
settings in the “AUDIO” preference display are disabled.
