• Operate the unit on 6 0 V (battery pack), 7 5V
(AC power adaptor), 9.0 V (alkaline batteries
with the EBP55).
» For DC or AC operation, use the accessories
recommended in this manual.

by qualified personnel before operating It

• Avoid shooting the same object for a long

sources) as this will damage the color filter
inside the camera and may cause a poor
picture quality.
' Remove and store video cassettes after
recording or playback.
’ Do not wrap up the unit and operate it
because heat may build up internally.
' Avoid using ahd storing the recorder In the

— Locations susceptible to vibration.
— LocatioT>s exposed to strong magrtetic
fields.
— Locations near TV or radio transmitters
where strong radio waves are generated.
Do not put the unit on the sand.
» Store cassettes in their cases and keep
them in an upright posttlon to prevent
intrusion of dust and uneven winding.

period of time, periodically turn on the
power, operate the camera section and
recorder section and play back a tape for
about three minutes.
■ Clean the lens with a soft brush to remove
dust If there are fingerprints on them,
remove them with a soft cloth. Clean the
recorder body with a dry, soft doth, or a
soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild
detergent solution. Do not use any type of
solvent which may damage the finish

Each country has special TV color broadcast
and electricity systems. Before using your
recorder abroad, check the following points.

If you prepare fully charged battery packs and
the AC power adaptor which can be used in
all areas with the local power supply of tfXIV-
240V. you can use your recorder in any
country. You can monitor the playback pteture
on the viewtirrder screen. However, to monitor
the playback picture on a TV, the TV must be
based on the NTSC system and have the
video/audk) Inputs.
NTSC system couiililet
Bahama Islands. Canada, Central America,
Japan, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, the
Philippines, U.S.A., etc.
PAL system couiiirtes
Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark.
Finland. Great Britain, Hollartd, Hong Kong.
Italy. Kuwait. New Zealand, Norway,
Portugal, Sirrgapore, Spain. Sweden.
Swittertarrd. Thailand, West Germany, etc.
SECAM system countrtes
Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Iran. Iraq,
Monaco, Poland, the Soviet Union, etc.
There are two formats for 8 mm video
redordlng, NTSC and PAL Video cassette
tapes are made to correspond to the
respective formats. Use NTSC format cassette
tape for the CCD-TR5. You will find "P6" on
the package of the cassette In some
countries, however, only PAL format cassette
tape with "P5" on the package Is available. In
this case, the standard recording times
stipulated oh the cassette are different from
the actuat recording time.

Avant de mettre l'appareil en fonction dans un

Cessettes et durée (Temgletrement
Il y a deux normes d'enregistrement vidéo 8 mm
NTSC et PAL. Les vidéocassettes sont
fabriquées en fonction de ces normes
respectives. UlUiser des cassettes à la norme
NTSC avec le CCO-TR5. La mention "PB" se
trouve sur l'emballage de la cassette.
Néanmoins, dans certains pays, on ne peut
trouver que des cassettes à la norme PAL
avec la mention "PS" su l'emballage. Dans ce
cas, la durée d'enregistrement starxlard
stipulée sur la cassette est différente de fa
durée d’enregistrement réelle.
