If your document includes color, select Color. If you are
printing black text, a draft, or if you want colors to print as
varying shades of gray, select Black.

Using the Advanced Settings

Basically, there are two setting modes in your printer driver:
Automatic and Advanced. Automatic settings are described in
the previous section, and Advanced settings are described in
the following sections. The Advanced settings are broken down
into two categories: predefined and custom. The predefined
settings are default settings optimized for certain document
types, which can be determined by the setting name. The
custom settings are settings you make to fit your individual
needs. The predefined settings are described below, and the
procedure for making custom settings is described on page 4-14.

Using predefined settings

The predefined settings are provided to help you optimize
the print settings for a particular kind of printout, such as
presentation documents or images taken by a video or digital
camera. You will find the predefined settings in the list
between the More Settings and Save Settings buttons in the
Print dialog box. This list is called the Advanced settings list
because it is enabled when you click the Advanced button.

To select a predefined setting, click Advanced, then select the
most appropriate setting from the list according to the type of
document or image you will print.
