Using the Advanced Settings

Basically, there are two setting modes in your printer driver:
Automatic and Advanced. Automatic settings are described in
the previous section, and Advanced settings are described in
the following sections. The Advanced settings are divided into
two categories: predefined and custom. The predefined settings
are default settings that are optimized for certain document
types. The custom settings are settings you make to fit your
individual needs. The predefined settings are described below,
and the procedure for making custom settings is described on
page 3-11.

Using predefined settings

The predefined settings are provided to help you optimize
the print settings for a particular kind of printout, such as
presentation documents or images taken by a video or digital
camera. You will find the predefined settings in the list
between the More Settings button and the Save Settings button
in the Print dialog box.

To select a predefined setting, click Advanced, then select the
most appropriate setting from the list according to the type of
document or image you will print.

When you choose a predefined setting, other settings such as
Print Quality, Halftoning, and Color are made automatically.
Changes are shown in the Current Settings display at the
bottom of the Main menu. Before printing, be sure to verify
the Media Type and Ink settings, as they may be affected by
the predefined setting you select. See page 3-13 for more
information on the Media Type setting.
