Ink has leaked on the platen. Open the cover and wipe the black
section inside the printer with a soft,
clean cloth.

Be careful not to touch the gears inside the
printer.
The print head nozzles are
clogged. Clean the print heads “Cleaning the
Print Heads” on page 8-36.
White horizontal lines appear through the text.
Cause What to do
The print head nozzles are
clogged. Clean the print heads as described in
“Cleaning the Print Heads” on page
8-36.
One of the ink cartridges is
low on ink. Check the control panel to confirm
which Ink Out light is flashing or on,
and replace the appropriate ink
cartridge.
The MicroWeave option in
your printer driver is not
selected. Turn on MicroWeave in your printer
driver.
The Media Type setting in the
printer driver is incorrect. Make sure the Media Type setting in
the printer driver matches the type of
paper loaded in the printer.
