EPSON Status Monitor
Note:
The Status Monitor is only available for Windows 95.
The Status Monitor utility helps you keep track of the printer,
and it alerts you if it detects a printer error. You can use this
utility to check the paper path, paper size, paper type, and you
can check how much ink is remaining. When you install the
printer software for Windows 95, the Status Monitor is
automatically copied to your hard disk.
The Status Monitor utility is available only when the printer is
connected directly to the host computer. You cannot use this
utility when printing over a network. Also, it can only detect
the paper size if you load paper only in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
When you send a print job to the printer, the Status Monitor
automatically appears along with the Despooler dialog box in
the lower right portion of your screen. For more information,
see “Checking Printer Status” on page 3-20.
Nozzle Check
The Nozzle Check utility checks the print head nozzles for
clogging. Use this utility when you notice a decline in print
quality, and after cleaning a print head to confirm that the print
head nozzles have been cleaned. If the nozzle check utility
indicates the print heads need cleaning, you can access the
Head Cleaning utility directly from the Nozzle Check utility.
