Precautions Précautions
On operating voltage
Before operating the stereo system, check
that the operating voltage of your system is
identical with the voltage of your focal
power supply.
Models for U.S.A.
and Canada 120 V AC. 60 Hz
Models for U.K. and
Australia 240 V AC. 50 Hz
On safety
eAs the laser beam used in this unit is
harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to
disassemble the cabinet. Refer servicing
to qualified personnel only.
#The unit is not disconnected from the AC
power source (mains) as long as it is
connected to the wall outlet, even if the
unit itself has been turned off.
• Unplug the system from the wall outlet if
it is not to be used for an extended period
of time. To disconnect the cord, pull it out
by the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into
the component, unplug the system and
have it checked by qualified personnel
before operating it any further.
• AC power cord must be changed only at a
qualified service shop.
On moisture condensation in the CO
ptayer section________________________________
If the system is brought directly from a cold
to a warm location, or is placed in a very
damp room, moisture may condense on the
lens inside the unit. Should this occur, the
CD player will not operate. In this case,
remove the disc and leave the system
turned on for about an hour until the
moisture evaporates.

IMPORTANT
The wires in this mains lead are
coloured in accordance with the
following code;
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains
lead of this apparatus may not
correspond with the coloured markings
identifying the terminals in your plug
proceed as follovrs:
The wire which is coloured blue must
be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter N or coloured
black.
The wire which is coloured brown must
be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter L or coloured
red.
Do not connect either wire to the earth
terminal
in the plug which is marked by
the letter E or by the safety earth
symbol 4- or coloured green of green*
and-yellow.

Sécurité

• Débrancher la chaîne au niveau de la
prise secteur si l'on prévoit de ne pas
l'utiliser pendant longtemps Pour
débrancher le cordon, saisir la fiche. Ne
jamais tirer sur le cordon proprement dit.

s'infiltrer dans l'appareil, le débrancher et
le faire examiner par un personnel
qualifié avant de le remettre en service
• Le cordon d'alimentation doit être changé
uniquement par un service aprés*vente
qualifié.
Condensation d’humidité dans la
section lecteur CD____________________________
Si le lecteur est transporté directement
d'un endroit froid vers une pièce chaude ou
s'il est placé dans un endroit très humide,
de la condensation risque de se produire
dans l'appareil. En pareil cas. l'appareil ne
fonctionnera pas. Il convient alors de
retirer le disque et de laisser le lecteur
sous tension pendant une heure environ
pour laisser s'évaporer l'humidité.
