Problem

Considerable noise in radio
broadcasts.

Auto tuning does not pick up
some stations.

Sound is mono only.

Remedy

• Tune into the correct frequency.
• Connect the antenna (see setup guide).
• Fully extend the FM wire antenna, position for best reception,
and secure to a wall.
• Connect an outdoor FM antenna (see page 75).
• Adjust the direction and position for best reception.
• Connect an additional internal or external AM antenna (see
page 75).
• Turn off any other equipment that may be causing the noise or
move it away from the unit.
• Place the antenna farther away from any other equipment that
may be causing the noise.
US model only: The tuning interval is incorrect for your region.
Try switching the tuning interval (frequency step) (see page 77).

• The radio signal is weak. Auto tuning will only detect radio
stations with a good signal. For more sensitive tuning, connect
an outdoor antenna.

• Check that the tuner is not set to FM mono (see page 41).

Problem

Noticeable difference in DVD and
CD volume.

Tray doesn’t eject.

Incomplete sound from head-
phones when listening to a DVD-
A disc.

Remedy

• DVDs and CDs use different recording methods. This is not a
malfunction.

• Make sure that there is nothing blocking the front panel door
from opening.

Some multichannel DVD-A discs only output the front left/right
channels through headphones.
