Setting the surround speaker
distance

• Default setting:

10 ft. / 3.0 m

This setting lets you specify how far the
surround left/right speakers are from your
regular listening position.

Press SYSTEM SETUP

Use the

/

(cursor left/right)

buttons to choose ‘Speaker LS/RS’.

Use the

/

(cursor up/down) to set

the distance.
The distance can be set from

1 ft. / 0.3 m to

30 ft. / 9 m in 1 ft. / 0.3 m increments.

Dynamic range control setting

• Default setting:

Off

With this setting, you can adjust the dynamic
range of a Dolby Digital soundtrack so that
loud peaks of sound are controlled, while
bringing up the level of quieter sounds. This
is useful when listening at low volume.

buttons to choose ‘D.R.C.’.

Use the

(cursor up/down) to

choose a setting.

Off – No effect. Use when listening at
normal volume.

Medium – Use when listening at
slightly lower than normal volume.

High – Good when listening at very low
volume.

Dual mono setting

• Default setting:

L-ch1/R-ch2

This setting is only effective when listening to
dual mono Dolby Digital soundtracks. These
discs are not widely used, but are sometimes
used to seperate the backing track from the
vocals on karaoke discs. This setting allows
you to choose which channel(s) to listen to.

L-Ch1/R-Ch2 – Plays channel 1 though
the front left speaker; plays channel 2
through the right speaker

Ch1Mono – Plays only channel 1
through the center speaker (or through
both front speakers if in

Stereo mode)

• Ch2Mono – Plays only channel 2

through the center speaker (or through
both front speakers if in

Stereo mode)

LFE attenuator setting

• Default setting:

0 dB

Dolby Digital and DTS audio sources include
ultra-low bass channel (the LFE channel)
which is played through the subwoofer. Set
the LFE attenuator as necessary to control
the level of this channel.
