Channel Level

Initial Settings

For good surround sound, you should set the
relative channel levels from your usual
listening position so that all channels sound
balanced in terms of volume. You can do this
while playing a surround sound disc (see
page 48 for how to do this), or by using the
built in test tone generator. Before starting,
unplug any headphones and make sure
muting isn’t on.

Press

SURROUND to select a surround

mode other than

Auto or Stereo. You can

set seperate levels for each surround mode.

You can set the individual channel levels
between –10dB and +10dB in 1 dB incre-
ments using the test tone output as a guide
to set the correct levels. Adjust the levels
until the output level from all channels
sounds the same from your usual listening
position.

Automatic: Select Auto to start the test
tone output.
