When the total length of the tracks to be
recorded is shorter than.the length of one
side of the tape by programming the track
order, the unit automatically operates as
follows:

-» continued

When the CD player is paused, the deck
continues recording silence until it reaches the
end of the front side; then it reverses the tape
and starts recording.

Once all of the selected tracks have been
recorded, the deck records about four seconds
of silence and then stops.

About Tape Select Edit
By using this feature, you can record an
entire CD without any tracks being cut in
the middle and leaving as little blank tape
as possible.
The CD player divides the tracks between
sides A and B without changing their order.
Then it selects and displays the optimum

tape length for recording that CD.

Sound Quality Adjustment

About the Surround Effect
This special effect creates a feeling of
actually being at a concert hall or theater by
adding the reverberations of sounds
reflecting off of the walls of a hall to the
audio component travelling directly from

the instrument, etc., to the listener.

Reverberating sound

Example of Surround Speaker

Arrangement (for MHC-C9EX only)
It is best if the surround speakers (the rear
speakers) are at the same level as the
listener's ears or higher.

The Speakers

(for MHC-C9EX only)

About the Electrostatic Tweeter
This speaker has an extremely light
diaphragm inside, and uses electrostatic
force to drive it.
Because the diaphragm vibrates with a very
small amount of force, you can faithfully
reproduce the fine audio nuances of
instruments and vocals.
In addition, you can enjoy natural sound
with little distortion because the entire
surface vibrates as a unit.

About the Motional Feedback (MFB)
Woofer
This feature faithfully reproduces the
original sound by comparing the actual
speaker vibrations with the signal being
input to the amplifier and boosting the
sound where necessary.

Reproduces the
original sound

The signal is fed back immediately to
compensate the speaker motion in real
time.
MFB provides flat response for low-band '

frequency characteristics down around
40 Hz, and can reproduce sound with low >
distortion and power worthy of speakers i
four times larger.
Therefore, you can enjoy a broad range of |
music and full bass reproduction without j
taxing the system.
