Press CURSOR.

The cursor moves to the next character.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 to make a name (up to

10 characters).

Press MEMO INPUT.

"MEMO FILE" appears.

The disc memo is memorized, and

"DISC MEMO" appears in the display.

You can use these letters and
symbols
You can use 79 different letters and
symbols and a space in the disc memo.
When you press MEMO INPUT for the first
time, a space appears, and each time you
press CHARACTER ► the letters and
symbols appear in the following order:

& abcdefghijkimnopqrstuvwxyz ', . :

Press CHARACTER to call up the
previous letter or symbol.

To correct letters or symbols while
making a disc memo
Press CURSOR repeatedly until the
incorrect character flashes, then repeat
steps 4 and 5.
To delete the characters, press CLEAR.

To change a disc memo
Repeat steps 1 to 6.

To erase a disc memo
Repeat steps 1 to 3, and press ERASE.
"FILE ERASE" appears and the "DISC
MEMO" indication disappears from the
display.
You can also erase a disc memo by
changing all the characters into "spaces".

To check the contents of a disc
memo
Press MEMO CHECK.
The disc memo appears for about four
seconds.

To see the disc
memo for

Press MEMO CHECK

the CD currently

while the playing

playing

time is displayed.

the next CD

while the disc
memo is displayed.

Note

•"*DISC - 1*" appears when the disc memo

has not been assigned, or the disc has not
been played yet.

Storing the Sound
Adjustment
(sound field file)

You can store the sound that you have
adjusted using the preset audio emphasis
or personal file for each disc.

Insert the CD(s) in the disc tray(s).

Press DISC SKIP on the remote to

choose a CD.

Note

• Make sure that the total number of

tracks and the total playing time are
displayed before going on to the next
step.

Select the desired preset audio emphasis

or personal file.

Press S.F.FILE.

The sound adjustment is memorized

and "S.F.FILE" appears in the display.

To change the sound adjustment on
the CD

Repeat steps 2 to 4.

To call up the sound field file
The stored setting is called up if you insert
a CD with sound field file when "CD" is
selected for the program source and when:
- the total playing time for that CD is

displayed

- you start playing
- that CD is selected during shuffle play

or program play.

The setting is not called up while checking
the custom files.

To erase the sound field file

1 Inserf the CD with the sound field file

thaf you want to erase.

2 Press S.F.FILE.
3 Press ERASE while "S.F.FILE" is

displayed.

"FILE ERASE" appears and the

"S.F.FILE" indication disappears.

To check all items in the custom files
Press MEMO CHECK when all the disc
trays are empty.
Each time you press this button, the
following information for each CD appears
in the display:
- the disc memo
- the "DISC MEMO" indication*
- the "S. F.FILE" indication*

* when it is stored for fhat CD.

Note

• If you press MEMO CHECK after the last

disc's information is displayed, "CHECK
END" appears for a few seconds and the
display returns to the "NO DISC"
indication.

To clear the custom file for a single
CD
Press MEMO CHECK repeatedly until the
custom file you want to delete appears, and
press ERASE.

To clear custom files for all discs at
once
When all the trays are empty, press
SYSTEM POWER to turn on the unit while
keeping ERASE pressed. "ALL ERASE"
will be displayed and all custom files are
cleared.
