Register the other unit’s
remote function
(Learn Function)
You can register additional functions to the
supplied remote button from the other unit's
remote.
Even though the supplied remote may not have
some functions or buttons to operate the VCR or
other unit, you can use additional functions with
this function.

Press RM SETUP and TV

The RM SET UP indicator lights up and
“LEARN” appears in the remote’s display.

Select “VIDEO1,” “VIDEO2,” “TV/SAT,”
or “MD/DAT” you want to register
using Cursor key, and then push
Cursor key. When you want to register
the TV function, press TV

“VIDEO1,” “VIDEO2,” “TV/SAT,” “MD/
DAT,” or “TV KEY” appears in the
remote’s display and the RM SET UP
indicator lights up.

Place face to face the sensors of the
supplied remote and the remote to
which you want to register a remote
function.

Press the button where you want to
register on the supplied remote.
The RM SET UP indicator blinks on and off
if you press the button which can be
registered on the supplied remote.

Press the button you want to register
an operation for the other unit and
send the code to the supplied remote.
The RM SET UP indicator blinks on and off
while sending the code from the remote of
the other unit.

When registration is completed
The RM SET UP indicator flashes twice
slowly.

When registration is incomplete
The RM SET UP indicator flashes 4 times
quickly, “Error” appears in the remote's
display, and then returns to step 5.

If memory is full
The RM SET UP indicator flashes 8 times
quickly and “Full” appears in the remote’s
display. Then the remote returns to normal
mode.
If you press TV/1 before step 5
When you press TV/1 in step 2, the operation
returns to step 4 and you can change the button
you want to register.
When you select the function using Cursor key
in step 2, the operation returns to step 5 and you
just change the other unit’s code.
If you want to clear the function
you registered
Before step 5, push TV/1 for more than 2
seconds before sending the code. “CLEAR”
appears in the remote’s display and the function
you registered is cleared.
Notes
• Depending on the function code, you cannot register
the function to the supplied remote.
• Some buttons on the supplied remote are not
available with this function.
Tip
You can register a function to each number on the
remote. Press NUM and select a number instead of
pressing the button in step 5.
