After your Washer/Dryer has passed the basic diagnostics test detailed in
Chapter 3: Getting Started
, you are ready to begin using your washer.

Loading Pipettes into the Washer/Dryer

The pipette Washer/Dryer has been designed to accommodate a wide variety of
volumetric pipettes. Depending on the diameter of the bulb, and the diameter and
length of the tapered end, the washer can hold up to 60 pipettes. The size of the
pipettes determines the quantity that will fit in the washer chamber. In addition,
the number of very small pipettes (with stem diameters less than .185” (4.7mm))
that can be washed at one time may be limited to 40. Please see the chart and
illustrations below for an approximation of the number of pipettes that could be
washed at one time.
