Setup and Installation
Note: The Belkin Heavy-Duty Fixed Shelf (part number RK5021) can be
purchased online at www.belkin.com or by calling Belkin at 800-223-5546.
Caution: Proper ventilation required. The AVU1500 produces heat. Allow
at least a one-inch space on all sides to ensure proper ventilation. Do not
block the exhaust fan on the rear of the unit.
To install your AVU1500 in a 19-inch equipment rack, install the Belkin
Heavy-Duty Fixed Shelf. (See the installation instructions included in the
box with the shelf.)
If mounting the AVU1500 on an equipment shelf, follow these
installation steps:
a. Make sure that the AVU1500 is off and unplugged.
b. Remove the battery module from the AVU1500 (see the section
“Care and Maintenance - Hot-Swappable Battery Module” on page 45.
This will make the unit significantly lighter while installing the AVU1500
in the rack.
c. Remove all four feet on the bottom of the AVU1500 with a
screwdriver (optional).
d. Align the front rack-mount brackets with the front of the AVU1500 for
flush installation in the rack.
e. Attach the bracket to one side of the AVU1500 with the screws provided
(see diagram below). You must use a minimum of four screws to mount
each bracket.
