Numéro régional

Il s’agit d’un code classant les lecteurs de disques Blu-ray et les
disques BD-ROM ou DVD-Vidéo en fonction de la région où ils sont
vendus. Un disque peut être lu si le code du lecteur est compris dans
les codes régionaux indiqués sur le disque ou si “ALL” est indiqué.

Sortie S-vidéo

C’est le nom donné à une prise de sortie transmettant des signaux
de luminance (Y) et de chrominance (C) via un seul câble. Cette
sortie procure des images plus nettes que la sortie vidéo composite.

Second son

Certains BD-ROM contiennent des flux audio secondaires mélangés
au son principal. Ces flux audio secondaires sont appelés “second
son”. Sur certains disques le second son enregistré correspond au
son de la seconde image.

Seconde image

Certains BD-ROM contiennent des images pouvant être
superposées aux images principales grâce à la fonction Image dans
l’image. Ces images secondaires sont appelées “seconde image”.

Langue des sous-titres

Ce terme désigne la langue des sous-titres pouvant souvent être
affichés sur les films. Un maximum de 255 langues (255 types de
sous-titres) peuvent être enregistrées sur les BD-ROM, 32 langues
(32 types de sous-titres) sur les DVD-Vidéo, peuvent être
sélectionnées pour le visionnage de films.

VC-1

Un codec vidéo mis au point par Microsoft et normalisé par la
Société des Ingénieurs de Cinéma et de Télévision (SMPTE).
Certains BD contiennent des films enregistrés dans ce codec.
