SOLUTION
Connect an outdoor FM antenna or contact
your dealer. (See page 7.)
Select a new station.
Check with your dealer to be sure you have
the correct antenna.
Check connections. (See page 7.)
Move the antenna farther from automobile
traffic.
Connect it to the screw marked ( H).
Move speakers away from the turntable.
Press (STANDBY/ON) on the front
panel to turn on the receiver, and adjust the
volume.
Check whether or not the speaker is short-
circuited. If it is, solve it then press
(STANDBY/ON) on the front panel to
turn on the receiver. If the STANDBY lamp
does not stop flashing after you solved the
speaker wiring trouble, consult your dealer.
Press (STANDBY/ON) on the front
panel to turn off the receiver. After
unplugging the AC power cord, consult your
dealer.
Set the selector correctly either to “ZONE 1”
or to “ZONE 2.”
Set the selector correctly either to “TV” or to
“CATV/DBS.”
Set both the BAND 1/2 selectors to the same
band. (See page 17.)
Consult your dealer.
Replace batteries. (See page 18.)
Select the correct remote control operation
mode. (See pages 71 to 80.)
PROBLEM
Continuous hissing or buzzing during
FM reception.
Occasional cracking noise during FM
reception.
Noise is heard during record playing.
Howling during record playing.
The STANDBY lamp starts flashing and
the receiver turns off (into standby
mode).
The STANDBY lamp goes off after
turning on the power, but soon the
receiver turns off again (into standby
mode).
Remote control does not work.
Remote control does not work properly.
FM/AM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Incoming signal is too weak.
The station is too far away.
An incorrect antenna is used.
Antennas are not connected properly.
Ignition noise from automobiles.
A ground cable of the turntable is not
connected to the screw marked (
H).
Your turntable is too close to speakers.
Speakers are overloaded because of high
volume either in Zone 1 or in Zone 2.
Speakers are overloaded because of a short
circuit of the speaker terminals.
Very high voltage or very low voltage is
applied to the unit, or built-in power
amplifier becomes out of order.
The ZONE 1/ZONE 2 selector is not set
correctly.
The TV operation mode selector is not set
correctly.
The BAND 1/2 selectors on the rear and on
the remote control are set to a different band.
RF communication between the receiver and
the remote control is interrupted from
outside.
Batteries are weak.
Incorrect remote control operation mode is
selected.
