Ⅵ Erasing & formatting
1. Display the [UTILITY] screen.
Display the [UTILITY] screen in the main menu
[SYSTEM/LIST]. For details, refer to “Setting” on page 18.
2. Set the menu switches.
Set the cursor to [QUICK FORMAT] with [JOG ] and set
to “STANDARD” or “EXTENSION” with [JOG – +].
“EXECUTE: PRESS £ BUTTON” is displayed on the
monitor.
STD
: Normally, use this position. Up to 13,000 alarm/
sensor events can be recorded.
EXTEN : Set to this position if you want to be able to
record more than 13,000 alarm/sensor events.
* Extended formatting takes about 5 minutes to complete.
Recording time is shorter than with the standard format.
Reference: “5-3 Menu switch details” on page 21.
3. Erase & format the disk.
Press the [SKIP SEARCH·EXECUTE] button to start
formatting the disk.
“FORMAT
** %” is shown on the monitor.
Erasing & formatting
Memo:
● When the disk is formatted, all existing data on the
hard disk will be erased.

● Start-up time will be longer when the extended format
is used and a large number of events have been
recorded. (Start-up takes about 2 minutes with 20,000
events and about 25 minutes with 100,000 events
max.)
