d’efficacité de combustion de 98 %, mais produit de faibles quantités de

Les êtres humains peuvent tolérer de petites quantités de monoxyde
de carbone, des précautions doivent donc être prises pour assurer une
ventilation adéquate. Une ventilation non adéquate, en violation des
consignes figurant dans ce manuel, peut entraîner la mort. Les premiers
symptômes d’un empoisonnement au monoxyde de carbone ressemblent
à ceux de la grippe. Les symptômes d’une ventilation inadéquate sont les
suivants :

* mal de tête * vertiges * nez et yeux qui brûlent *

nausée * bouche sèche * mal de gorge

Pour maximiser le rendement de ce radiateur, il est vivement recommandé
d’utiliser du kérosène 1-K. Le kérosène 1-K a été raffiné en vue d’éliminer
presque tous les contaminants comme le soufre, qui peuvent produire
une odeur d’oeufs pourris pendant l’utilisation du radiateur. Toutefois,
on peut utiliser du mazout no 1 ou no 2 (diesel) si on ne peut pas se
procurer du kérosène 1-K. Il faut savoir que ces combustibles ne brûlent
pas aussi proprement que le kérosène 1-K et qu’il convient de veiller à
accroître la ventilation d’air frais pour neutraliser tout contaminant supplé-
mentaire qui pourrait se propager dans l’espace chauffé. L’utilisation de
mazout no 1 et no 2 pourrait exiger un entretien plus fréquent.
