Initial Settings

Video output settings (Video Output)

1. • When

EDID is set to Off or when the display is not connected by HDMI cable, an “*” is displayed for the current setting (ex.: 1280 x 720p*).

• When

EDID is set to On or when the display is connected by HDMI cable, an “*” is displayed for recommended resolution

(ex.: 1280 x 720p*).

2. • The EDID function automatically changes the

Scaler Setting settings. The Scaler Setting settings can be changed manually, but they are

automatically set with the EDID function when the power is turned back on.
• Video signals with the same resolution are output from the

COMPONENT VIDEO OUT and HDMI OUT terminals.

3. Only settable in the stop mode. For some files, the picture will not become sharper even when

Still Picture is set to Field.

4. 1920 x 1080p synchronizing signals are not supported.

Shaking when playing still pictures is eliminated, and the picture quality is clearer.

Frame

This is the normal mode.

Sync Out

Off

Video signals are always output, even when not in the play mode and when no menu screen
is displayed and there is no video signal (synchronizing signals are always output). The blue
or black background color is displayed in the pause and stop modes.

On

No video signal is output when not in the play mode and when no menu screen is displayed
(no synchronizing signals are output).

External Sync

The component output signal is not synchronized with the external synchronizing signal
input to the

EXT SYNC IN terminal.

On

The component output signal is synchronized with the external synchronizing signal input
to the

EXT SYNC IN terminal. For the external synchronizing signal, input NTSC/PAL Black-

Burst signals or HD tri-level synchronizing signals (page 47).
