Measuring the SD
memory card’s
transfer speed

The speed at which data on the SD memory card is read
into this unit can be measured.

Caution

• This SD memory card transfer speed is only a rough

measurement, and does not guarantee a playback bit
rate.

• To achieve stable playback operation, use SD memory

cards with a sufficiently high transfer speed with
respect to the playback bit rate.

1

Switch to the transfer speed measurement mode.

Press the

SETUP button on the main unit’s front panel or

on the remote control for over one second.

2

Start the measurement.

Press the

ENTER button. The following appears on the

main unit’s display:

When the measurement is completed, the results are
displayed in the order minimum value

 average value

 maximum value.

• Press the

ENTER button to restart the measurement.

• Press the

RETURN button to cancel the transfer

speed measurement mode.

• When a display is connected to the

VIDEO OUT

terminal, the same contents can be checked on the
display’s screen.

• If measurement is not possible, an error message

appears on the display. Check the SD memory card.
Ex.: When write-protected
WRITE PROTECT or FREE SPACE <100MB

• Several minutes are required to measure the transfer

speed.

• Use SD memory cards in FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS

format. The measurement is possible even if files are
stored on the SD memory card.

• Check the results of the measurement against

Guaranteed transfer speed under Cautions on using
SD memory cards
on page 20.
