Connecting USB
storage devices

Caution

• Be sure to turn this unit’s power off (to the standby

mode) before connecting or disconnecting USB
storage devices.

• When using an external HDD (hard disk drive) as the

external storage device, be sure to turn on the HDD’s
power before turning on this unit’s power.

• If the USB storage device is write-protected, be sure

to disable the write-protection.

• When connecting the USB cable, hold onto the plug,

set the plug in the proper direction for the port, then
insert it horizontally.

• Placing excessive loads on the plug may result in

faulty contact, making it impossible to read the data
on the USB storage device.

• Do not unplug the power cord when a USB storage

device is connected and this unit’s power is turned
on.

Note

• It is not possible to use the two USB ports

simultaneously.

• Devices may not work if connected to the

USB port via

a memory card reader or USB hub.

• Use a USB cable with a length of two meters or less.
