Digital recording
You can record to an MD or cassette deck
without sound being affected by copy
guards if you use analogue connection.
■ To make an analogue recording
Connect the recording equipment with an
audio cable page 35).
•When connecting directiy, use the
same method used for connecting a 2-
channel amplifier or mini-system
page 35).
Using headphones
You can record the digital signal directly
onto an MD. The signals on DVDs will be
converted to 48 kHz linear PCM.
Ensure the following conditions are met.
•There is no copy guard recorded on the
disc.
•The recording equipment can handle a
sampling frequency of 48 kHz/16 bit.
■ To make a digital recording
1, Connect the recording equipment with
an optical fiber cable pages 34 and
35).
•When connecting directly, use the
same method used for connecting a 2-
channel digital amplifier or mini-system

2. Change the digital audio output settings

Change the settings as follows.
PCM Down Conversion: Yes
Dolby Digital: PCM
DTS Digital Surround: Off
