5.1 MINIMUM CLEARANCES TO COMBUSTIBLES

While a hearth extension is not required for this appliance, one is recommended
for aesthetic reasons. The installation of a 1” (25mm) hearth extension will
conceal the 1” (25mm) gap under the appliance. The hearth extension must
not be any more than 1” (25mm) above the bottom of the appliance.
If thicker, the appliance must be raised up accordingly.

NOTE: Hearth extensions thicker than 1” (25mm) will
interfere with the door frame.

Maintain these minimum clearances to combustibles from appliance and vent surfaces:
Appliance framing:
Use steel stud framing provided.

Non- Combustible Appliance fi nishing:

*HORIZONTAL VENT SECTIONS: A minimum clearance of 2” (51mm) all around the vent pipe on all
horizontal runs to combustibles is required except for clearances in appliance enclosures. Horizontal vent
sections within the enclosure require a minimum clearance of 14” (356mm) from the top of the vent pipe,
see “MINIMUM CLEARANCE TO COMBUSTIBLE ENCLOSURES” section. Use fi restop spacer W010-1797
(supplied).

*VERTICAL VENT SECTIONS: A minimum of 1” (25mm) all around the vent pipe on all vertical runs
to combustibles is required except for clearances in appliance enclosures. Vertical vent sections within
enclosures require a minimum clearance of 3” (76mm) around the vent pipe, see “MINIMUM CLEARANCES
TO COMBUSTIBLE ENCLOSURES” section. Use fi restop spacer W615-0075 (not supplied)
