PRECAUTIONS

Before using this unit, be sure to read the applic

able items of the operating instructions and

these safety suggestions carefully.
Afterwards keep them handy for future refer
ence. Take special care to follow the warnings

indicated on the unit itself as well as in the oper

ating instructions.

Power source

1. Power Source—The unit should be connect

ed to a power supply only of the type de
scribed in the operating instructions or as
marked on the unit. If you are not sure of the
type of power supply to your home, consult
your appliance dealer or local power com
pany.

Do not use a car cigarette lighter socket to

power the unit.

2. Polarization—If the unit is equipped with a

polarized AC power plug (a plug having one
blade wider than the other), that plug will fit
into the AC outlet only one way. This is a

safety feature. If you are unable to insert the

plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the
plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact
your electrician to replace your obsolete out

let. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the
polarized plug.

3.

Power Cord Protection—AC power supply

cords should be routed so that they are not

likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them. Never take hold
of the plug or cord if your hand is wet, and al
ways grasp the plug body when connecting
or disconnecting it.

4.

Overloading—Do not overload wall outlets

and extension cords as this can result in a
risk of fire or electric shock.

5.

Nonuse Periods—If the set is not being

used for a long time, be sure to disconnect

the AC power supply cord from the AC power
outlet and detach the battery pack to prevent

potential damage caused by battery leakage.

6.

Attachments—Do not use attachments not

recommended by the unit manufacturer as

they may cause hazards.

cleaning.

This AC adaptor operates on AC between 100 V
and 240 V.

But
• In the U.S.A. and Canada, the AC power sup

ply cord must be connected to a 120 V AC
power supply only,

•When connecting to an AC supply outside of

the U.S.A. or Canada, use a plug adaptor to

suit the AC outlet configuration.

•When connecting to a supply of greater than

AC 125 V, ensure the cord you use is suited to

the voltage of the AC supply and the rated cur

rent of the AC adaptor.

•Contact an electrical parts distributor for assis

tance in selecting a suitable AC plug adaptor or

AC cord set.
