5) routine Maintenance

5.1 Routine Maintenance
• Your Aquascape™ AquaForce™ Pump should operate under continuous duty without any

major maintenance.

• If any reduction in flow is noticed, unplug the pump and remove it from the pond. Depress-

ing the two clips on the front of the pump will allow access to the main pump chamber.

Remove any debris, and if required, remove the

Pump Volute Outlet by turning counter-

clockwise and pulling off. Inspect the

Solids Handling Impeller for blockage.

5.2 Annual Maintenance
• Remove and inspect the impeller by depressing the tabs and removing the

Upper Pump

Housing. Remove the Pump Volute Outlet by turning it counter-clockwise. Inspect the

Solids Handling Impeller for damage and replace if necessary.

5.3 Winter Storage
• In most climates, your Aquascape™ AquaForce™ Pump may operate year-round.
• If operated year round, we recommend moving the pump from the bottom of the pond to a

higher level to avoid disturbing the thermal layers in the pond.

• If not operating the pond year-round, we recommend removing the pump from the pond

and placing in a bucket of pond water in a frost-free location.

6) Using the Pump as a Winter device

• The Aquascape™ AquaForce™ Pump can be used to keep a hole open in the ice so that

proper gas exchange can orrur.

• Place the pump on the first or second shelf of the pond and extend the discharge so that it

is a few inches below the water level.

• When plugged in, the pump should agitate the surface of the water, ensuring that a hole

stays open in the ice.

• During periods of extreme cold an “ice dome” may form over the pump. If this happens it

may be necessary to open up the hole in the ice.
