Step 1 – Unpack and Inspect

Unpack the kit and inspect the parts for damage. The parts
supplied in the kit are listed in Table 3 and are illustrated in
Figure 2. Numbers in brackets in the text and figures refer to the
item numbers in Table 3.

NOTE: When using aluminum wire, use a joint compound
recommended by the wire manufacturer.

Step 2 – Installation

The following tools are required to install these lug kits:

• 5/16 inch hex bit

• Torque wrench rated through 43 N-m (375 in-lb)

• #1 Philips screwdriver

Figures 1 and 3 illustrate installation of the lug kit.

1. Trip the breaker by pushing the red trip button on the front

of the breaker. See the Record Plus™ FG breaker
installation bulletin DEH41177 for more information.

2. Slide the terminal shoe [4] into the breaker base until seated

at the terminal recess, as shown in Figures 1A and 3A.

Align the lug [5] mounting hole with the breaker terminal
hole, as illustrated in Figure 1B and 3A and secure it with a
single mounting screw [2] and lock-washer [3]. Tighten the
mounting screw to 23 N-m (200 lb-in).

5. Use a joint compound as recommended by the wire

manufacturer when installing aluminum conductors.

6. Insert the wires into the lug, ensuring that all strands are

contained and secured under the lug screws. Tighten the lug
screw with a 5/16 inch or 8 mm hex wrench according to
Table 4.

7. Install the lug cover [6], as shown in Figures 3C & 3D, to

insulate the line or load lugs. Secure the lug cover [6] with
four M3.0 thread-forming, flat-head screws [1].

Step 2 – Installation

Les outils suivants sont nécessaires pour installer ces kits de

• Clef Allen 5/16

• Clé dynamométrique nominal jusqu’à 43 N-m (375 lb-po)

• Tournevis Philips # 1

1. Déclencher le disjoncteur en poussant le bouton rouge de

déclenchement sur l’avant du disjoncteur. Voir le bulletin
d’installation DEH41177 pour disjoncteur Record Plus™
FG pour de plus amples informations.

2. Glisser le sabot du terminal [4] dans la base du disjoncteur,

jusqu’à ce qu’il soit appuyé dans la niche du terminal
comme montré aux Figures 1A et 3A.

Aligner l’ouverture de montage de la cosse [5]avec
l’ouverture du terminal du disjoncteur tel qu’illustré aux
Figures 1B et 3A et le fixer avec une vis d’assemblage [2]
et une rondelle de blocage [3]. Serrer la vis de montage à 23
N-m (200 po.-lb.).

5. Utilisez une pâte à joints tel que recommandé par le

manufacturier lorsqu’on installe des conducteurs
d’aluminium.
