automatically switched off.

Listening through headphones

When you connect a pair of headphones for private
listening the front panel display shows

PHONES IN

and

sound from the speakers is muted.

Sound through the headphones is always stereo;
multichannel sources are mixed down as necessary.

When headphones are connected, the

AUTO

,

SURROUND

,

STEREO

and

SOUND

buttons are all

inoperative.

Dynamic Range Control setting

• Default setting:

DRC: OFF

Using this setting, you can compress the dynamic range
of Dolby Digital or DTS sources so that low level sounds
can be heard more easily (sounding relatively louder) yet
louder sounds won’t be too overbearing.

1

Press SYSTEM SETUP repeatedly until the DRC

setting is shown in the display.

The display shows

DRC ON

or

DRC OFF

.

2

Use the

/

(cursor left/right) buttons to

change the setting.

Switching on Dynamic Range Control is best used when
listening at low volumes so that you can still hear dialog.

• You can also use the

<

and

>

buttons on the front

panel.

3

Press ENTER to exit System Setup.
