Features

This product DVBK-IOOO/IOOOE comprises the DV
capture board, Capturer software and Viewer
software. The following software is supplied:

Capturer

Captures the picture input from the DV video
equipment as an encoded still image. You can also
monitor the input picture and refer to the recording
information included in the captured image.

Viewer

Decodes and displays the encoded image that is

captured with Capturer. With Viewer, you can save
the decoded image as a bitmap image file (BMP
format file).

Format of saved file

Capturer automatically saves the image to your hard
disk in DV format and assigns a file name (with the
".DVF" file extension).

What is DV file format ?

The DV file format document is an image document
compressed with the same method used by DV video
equipment to compress images. A single image saved
in this format, at a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels

(DVBK-1000) or 720 x 576 pixels (DVBK-IOOOE) and

with 16700 thousand colors, occupies only about

120kB (DVBK-1000) or 140kB (DVBK-IOOOE) on your

hard disk.

The resolution of the image is lower than the original

image because the image displayed on the preview
window of Capturer is a plain decoded image. You
can restore the original image quality with Viewer.

When \'ou save the image in bitmap image format
(with the ".BMP" file extension) with Viewer, one file,
at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels (DVBK-1000) or 768
X 576 pixels (DVBK-IOOOE) and with 16700 thousand
colors, will occupy about 1MB (DVBK-1000) or 1,3MB
(DVBK-IOOOE) on your hard disk.
