Additions/Changes Checklist

1) Under

In order to avoid the possibility of exposed insulation or vapour barrier coming in contact with the

fi re-

place body, it is recommended that the walls of the fi replace enclosure be “fi nished” (ie: drywall/sheetrock), as you would
fi nish any other outside wall of a home. This will ensure that clearance to combustibles is maintained within the cavity.

Installation practices vary from region to region and it is important to know the specifi cs that apply to your area,
for example: in Massachusetts State:

• The fi replace damper must be removed or welded in the open position prior to installation of a fi replace insert.
• The appliance off valve must be a “T” handle gas cock.
• The fl exible connector must not be longer than 36 inches.
• The appliance is not approved for installation in a bedroom or bathroom unless the unit is a direct-vent.

4) To all manuals under “Blower Installation”.

Drywall dust will penetrate into blower bearings causing irrepairable damage and must be prevented from coming into contact
with the blower or its compartment.
Any damage resulting from this condition is not covered by the warranty policy.

5) Only Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
Under “INTRODUCTION” , “GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS”.

Mobile home installation must conform with local codes. In the absence of local codes, install to the current standard for gas
equipped mobile housing CAN/CSA Z240 MH Series in Canada or the manufactured home construction and safety standard,
Title 24 CFR, part 3280, or the Fire Safety Criteria for manufactured home installations, Sites and Community Standard
ANSI/NFPA 501A in the United States.

6) To all appropriate DV manuals which require W680-0005 and W680-0008 thermocouples. In the WARN-
ING BOX in the front of these manuals:

“This fi replace uses and requires a fast acting thermocouple. Replace only with a fast acting thermocouple supplied by Wolf

Steel Ltd.”

Also where these thermocouples are currently being used, W680-0005 and W680-0008.

“WARNING: This is a fast acting thermocouple. It is an integral safety component. Replace only with a fast acting thermo-
couple supplied by Wolf Steel Ltd.”

7) In all direct vent manuals under “AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATIONS” see PAGES folder in MANUALS.

8) Change all terminals to new terminals with defl ector and add round terminals.
