after cleaning, set it in position over the brush
sockets. Then, tighten the thumb nut in the mid-
dle of the shield.
• Take each brush and set its hub on one of the
three rounded shafts. Then, rotate the brush in
until it snaps into place. This takes about one
quarter turn to the right when facing the bottom
of the unit. Install nap lifters in the same way.
Shampoo Brush and Sudser Shield Removal
• To remove a brush, grasp it firmly and rotate
about one half turn to the left. Use a lifting and
turning motion until the brush becomes loose.
Remove nap lifters in the same way.
• To remove the sudser shield for cleaning or
when polishing, loosen the thumb nut in the
middle of the shield.
Splash Guard Installation (B)
• Stand the shampooer upright on its base in the
storage tray with the handle locked.
• Slide the splash guard down over the handle and
lower it around the shampooer base.
Splash Guard Removal
• Slide the guard up and over the handle.
Shampoo Tank Removal (C)
• Remove the tank by pulling its handle forward.
This action frees the tank from its mounting bar.
• After you pull the carrying handle free, lift the
shampoo tank out of its mounting position.
Shampoo Tank Installation (D)
• The shampoo tank of your unit normally comes
installed on the unit. To replace it after cleaning,
set the bottom of the tank onto the crossbar. Be
sure the shampoo valve is in its socket. Then,
push the top of the tank back until the tank and
its handle are flush with the front of the unit.

Shampooer Use
Before using the shampooer, you must get the
room ready for cleaning. Remove all moveable
furniture from the room. Protect stationary items
from water by carefully putting aluminum foil or
plastic under and around the legs and edges. If
you have plush or pile carpeting use nap lifters
first, then vacuum the room with your Aerus™
Vacuum Cleaner. You are now ready to shampoo
the carpet.
Filling the Shampoo Tank
WARNING: Do not use solvents or gasoline in or
near your shampooer.
• Remove the shampoo tank from the unit and
carry it to the sink.
• Fill with lukewarm water. Unscrew the cap and
fill the tank to a desired level of warm water.
Use only warm or lukewarm water. Hot water
may damage the tank. To see the water level,
hold the tank upright and look at markings on
the see-through panel on the side. Notice the
markings on the see-through panel. They

Avant d’utiliser Ia shampouineuse, il faut préparer
Ia surface à nettoyer. Enlever tout le mobilier pos-
sible de Ia pièce; protéger le reste contre l’eau en
plaçant soigneusement du papier d’aluminium ou
du papier plastique au-dessous et autour des
pieds et des bords. Si le tapis est en peluche ou à
poil ras, utiliser d’abord les peignes rotatifs, puis,
passer l’aspirateur Aerus
mc . Le tapis est main-
tenant prêt pour le shampooing.
Remplissage du réservoir à shampooing
MISE EN GARDE : Ne pas utiliser de solvant
ou d’essence à l’intérieur ou à proximité de Ia
shampouineuse.
• Retirer le réservoir à shampooing de l’appareil
et le transporter à un évier.
• Remplissage (eau tiède). Dévisser Ia capsule
et remplir le réservoir d’eau tiède jusqu’au
niveau voulu. N’utiliser que de l’eau tiède ou
modérément chaude; de I’eau trop chaude
pourrait endommager le réservoir. On peut
repérer le niveau d’eau en tenant le réservoir
liquides. Normalement, l’écran est déjà monté
sur l’appareil. Après l’avoir nettoyé, le réinstaller
sur les douilles des brosses, puis serrer l’écrou
à oreilles situé au centre de l’écran.
• Pour monter chaque brosse, placer le moyeu
sur l’un des trois axes, puis faire tourner Ia
brosse jusqu’à ce qu’elle s’emboîte. Cela
nécessite environ un quart de tour vers Ia droite,
Ia base de l’appareil face à soi. Installer les
peignes rotatifs de Ia même façon.
Enlèvement des brosses et de l’écran
pare-mousse
• Pour enlever chaque brosse, l’agripper
fermement et Ia faire tourner d’environ un
demi-tour vers Ia gauche tout en tirant jusqu’à
ce qu’elle se dégage. Retirer les peignes rotatifs
de Ia même façon.
• Pour enlever l’écran pare-mousse et le nettoyer,
ou pour le polissage, desserrer l’écrou à oreilles
situé au centre de l’écran.
Installation du pare-gouttes (B)
• Mettre Ia shampouineuse debout sur le plateau
de rangement, poignée verrouillée.
• Faire glisser le pare-gouttes le long de Ia
poignée jusqu’à Ia base de Ia shampouineuse.
Enlèvement du pare-gouttes
• Faire glisser le pare-gouttes vers le haut, le long
de Ia poignée.
Enlèvement du réservoir à shampooing (C)
• Pour enlever le réservoir à shampooing, tirer sa
poignée vers l’avant ce qui le libérera de sa barre
de montage.
• Soulever ensuite le réservoir.
Installation du réservoir à shampooing (0)
• Normalement, le réservoir à shampooing est
déja monté sur l’appareil. Pour le remettre en
place après l’avoir nettoyé, placer le réservoir
sur Ia barre transversale. S’assurer que Ia valve
à shampooing est dans sa douille. Puis,
repousser le haut du réservoir jusqu’à ce que ce
dernier et sa poignée soient de niveau avec Ia
face de l’appareil.
