OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Griddles

Griddle tops are designed to have food cooked directly on
the surface. Do not put pots or pans on the griddle surface as
this will scratch or nick the surface and will result in improper
cooking or sticking of product. Never salt food over griddle
since this will build up a gummy residue making it difficult to
clean.

Avoid hitting the surface of the griddle with the edge of a
spatula since this will cause nicks. The most frequently used
temperatures are 149°C to 182°C (300°F to 360°F). After one
cycle, the griddle plate will discolour. This is normal and will
not affect cooking performance.

Check the grease container and drain frequently during
heavy use to prevent overflow.

Griddle Start Up

NOTE: Ensure the electrical supply to the appliance is turned
“ON”.

1. Switch “ON” main power switch on the control panel.

2. Switch “ON” desired section(s).

3. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature.

Griddle Shut Down

1. Set the thermostat to the OFF position.

2. Switch “OFF” all sections.

3. Switch “OFF” main power switch on the control panel.

Thermostat Temperature Verification

1. Set each thermostat dial to the same temperature.

Unless the grill temperature is being verified for a specific
function, use 350°F for the temperature setting.

Preheat the grill for 30 minutes before proceeding.

NOTE: Each minor line on the thermostat scale is 5 degrees F.
Take care when making temperature adjustments.

2. Place the surface temperature probe in the locations

indicated on Diagram A.

Be sure to hold the probe perpendicular to the grill
surface. To improve thermal conduction, apply a film
of vegetable oil or shortening to the area of the grill
where temperatures will be measured. Watch the amber
indicator for the zone being measured. When the amber
indicator is ON the burner for that zone is on. When the
amber indicator goes OFF note the temperature.

The measured temperature at the time the amber indicator
switches off should be no more than ±5°F from the set
temperature. If the error is greater than ±5°F consult a
qualified service technician.
