• Charge your iPod.

If your iPod does not respond, you may need to charge it. To charge

your iPod, connect it to a high-power USB port on your computer

or to an Apple USB Power Adapter using the cable that came with

your iPod. The battery status light may change color. For example,

the status light on iPod shuffle changes from red to orange to green

as charging progresses. For more information about iPod batteries,

go to the Apple Support website at www.apple.com/support/ and

search for the AppleCare Knowledge Base article “Charging your iPod

battery” by entering HT1384.

If your iPod does not respond

• Reset your iPod.

If your iPod does not respond and appears to be frozen, you may

need to reset it:

• iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the

Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the

Apple logo appears.

• iPod classic and iPod nano: Toggle the Hold switch on and off

(slide it to Hold and then back again). Press and hold the Menu

and Center buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo

appears.
