STANDBY/ON switch

Press this switch to switch the unit between power
on and standby.

OPEN/CLOSE button

Press this button to open and close the CD
compartment.

TIMER/SLEEP button

Use this button to set the timer or sleep timer.

Display button

Use this button to change the display mode.

CD compartment

Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on top of the unit to
open the CD compartment.

Remote sensor

Display

REPEAT/PRESET button

Use this button to change the repeat mode or select
a preset number and station.

MEMORY/CLOCK ADJ button

Use this button to program tracks or to adjust the
clock.

BAND button

Use this button to select FM or AM.

FUNCTION button

Press this button to switch between CD, TUNER,
and AUX.

Speakers (stereo)

MUTING button

Use this button to cut the sound temporarily.

TUNING button

Use this button to tune in a station.

SHUFFLE button

Use this button to select shuffle playback mode.

CD operation buttons

When TUNER is selected, these buttons won’t work.

STOP button (H)
Use this button to stop playback.

PLAY/PAUSE button (y/J)
Use this button to start or pause playback.

SKIP/SEARCH buttons (.m/,/)
Press these buttons to skip tracks.
Hold down these buttons to search for a part of a
track.

VOLUME button

Use this button to adjust the volume.

AUX IN jacks

Connect external sources to these jacks.

FM antenna terminal

Connect lead-type FM antenna to this terminal.
Tune in an FM station and extend the lead to find
the best position for the reception. Then fix it to the
wall with thumb tacks or the like.

PHONES

Insert the headphones plug into the PHONES jack,
and adjust the volume.

AC adaptor

First plug the power cord running out the AC
adaptor into the DC-IN jack on the left side of the
unit, then plug the adaptor into an AC wall socket.

SLEEP button

Use this button to set the sleep timer.

The equipment draws nominal nonoperating
power from the AC outlet with its STANDBY/ON
switch in the STANDBY position.
