5.6. Concentric/eccentric design

To ensure that the concentric design drains completely, this valve

should be installed in a vertical position.
The eccentric design, even when installed horizontally, guarantees

complete drainage of the product.

6. ASSEMBLY

WARNING!

Danger – high pressure and discharge of medium!

• When working on the product or the system, always switch off the

pressure and relieve the lines.

• Wear protective equipment if media is hazardous.
Risk of injury from improper assembly!

• Installation must only be carried out by authorized technicians and

with the appropriate tools!

• Secure system from unintentional activation.

6.1. Welding in the pipe connection

NOTE!

Leak due to damaged sealing elements!

• Do not weld in the assembled product. It is essential to remove

the O-ring and locking ball before welding and to protect the prod-

uct from dust, flying sparks and other influences!

Leak due to damaged sealing contour!

• To ensure the sealing function, protect the sealing contour during

installation, welding and cleaning procedures.

Welding work may be carried out only by experts who have

specialist knowledge in welding technology.

Before welding:

Connect the parts positively in a protective gas shield.

After welding:
When cleaning the weld seam by grinding or acid cleaning, observe

the following before assembling the connection:
• Carefully remove all grinding dust and acid-cleaning residue.
• Do not damage the label.

• There must be no material abrasion on the sealing edges. Material

abrasion will result in sharp-edged sealing contours and a damaged

seal.

• Check sealing contour for damage.

We recommend preparing a welding report.

6.2. Direction of flow

The flow direction is optional. Install the support flange with spring and

locking element in the valve housing so that the ball head is against the

direction of flow.

Following installation, we recommend marking the direction of

flow clearly on the outside of the valve.

Fig. 2:

Installing concentric ball check valve with union nut

Valves ≤ DN 25/DN 1" are connected with a union nut.

Insert O-ring (4) by hand (do not use any tools or sharp imple-

ments) into the threaded connection piece (1).

First push the spring (6), then the support flange (7) over the

locking element (5).

Now push this assembly into the threaded connection piece,

attach the liner (2). Ensure that the O-ring is in the correct position.

For mounting the housing please apply some fitting lubricant (see "10.

Recommended auxiliary materials") onto the thread of the threaded

connection piece and close the housing with the union nut (3).

Installing concentric ball check valve with flange

Valves ≥ DN 25/DN 1" are connected with a flange.

Insert O-ring (4) by hand (do not use any tools or sharp imple-

ments) into the grooved flange (8).

First push the spring (6), then the support flange (7) over the

locking element (5).

Now push this assembly into the grooved flange and attach the

collar flange (9). Ensure that the O-ring is in the correct position.

Close housing using bolts (10), washers (11) and nuts (12).

Initially tighten nuts hand-tight and then tighten increasingly in a

criss-cross sequence.

To ensure complete drainage, weld in the valve horizontally

with the connections at the lowest point (same as "Fig. 4").
