4. LED FLASHLIGHT

• Locate the button with the “lamp symbol”

XL7 emergency tool.

• Press 1 time to turn on flashlight.
• Press again 2 times to turn off.

5. RED DISTRESS FLASHER

• Locate the button with the “lamp symbol” on the

front of your BodyGard

XL7 emergency tool.

• Press 2 times to activate the red distress flasher.
• Press again to turn off.

Limited LIFETIME Warranty

This product is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty to

the original purchaser in that this product is free from

defects in workmanship and materials. During the

warranty period, this product will either be repaired or

replaced with a product of equal or greater value,

excluding any custom engraving or printing.
Damage through normal wear and tear (including

battery expiration and surface coatings), repair or

alteration, misuse, abuse, neglect, accident, improper

storage and handling, fire, negligence, improper

cleaning, circumstances not directly attributable to

manufacturing defects, or act of God is not included.

• Pull the BodyGard

XL7 emergency tool away

from the key ring.

• Press barrel firmly against vehicle side window.
• Breaker point automatically deploys to break glass.
• Push out any remaining broken glass to escape.
IMPORTANT: Intended only to break tempered auto-
mobile door window glass during a vehicular accident.
Unit will not break windshields or other windows made
of laminated glass. Use in an emergency only.
DO NOT use for any other purpose. This is not a toy.
Testing of this feature may be performed using a thick
pad of paper or magazine. Place pad of paper on flat
surface, press glass breaking plunger against paper
and push down until steel pin is engaged. A small
indentation will be visible in the paper surface.
Variations in environmental conditions and types of
glass may result in damage to glass breaking pin when
used in an actual emergency. If the glass breaking
feature is used in an actual emergency, please purchase
a replacement BodyGard

®

XL7.

Replacing the Batteries

• Using a small Phillips screwdriver, loosen the captive

screw (screw stays in battery cover) on the back of
your BodyGard

®

XL7 emergency tool.

• Open the battery compartment.
• Remove the old batteries and replace with three new

LR44, AG13 or equivalent batteries, positive sides (+)
toward the Glass Breaker.

• Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw

gently. Be sure not to over tighten.

BEFORE USING, PULL TAB

TO ACTIVATE BATTERY.

Firmly grasp Pull Tab extending out of the Battery

Door and pull completely out of unit. Your

BodyGard

®

XL7 emergency tool is now operational.

Built-in QUICK RELEASE for

immediate emergency use.

With key ring attached, grasp the emergency tool firmly,
and with a sharp tug, pull it away from Key Ring.

• Pull the BodyGard

®

XL7 emergency tool away from

the key ring. This exposes safety blade chamber.

• Place and hold outer edge of seat belt strap inside

blade chamber.

• Grasping the tool firmly, pull blade quickly

across strap to cut completely.

NOTE: Intended only to cut seat belt webbing if a seat
belt does not unlatch during a vehicular accident. Safety
blade designed to prevent accidental or unintentional
cutting. Blade type permitted on aircraft (carry-on and
checked) per USDHS, TSA Rev. 12-1-2005.

2. SEAT BELT CUTTER

• Press Tire Pressure Gauge button (A) to activate.

“0.0 PSI” will appear on LCD readout (default unit of
measure is PSI).

• Pressing the button again will change the unit of

measure from PSI to BAR (digital readout will show
“0.00 BAR”).

• Push Tire Gauge Nozzle onto tire valve. Be sure to

make a good seal between the nozzle and the valve
stem so no hissing sound of escaping air is heard.

• Hold Gauge on valve stem for about 3 seconds until

the pressure reading displayed is stable.

• To turn off, press and hold button for 3 seconds, or

wait 10 seconds for automatic shutoff.

TO TURN OFF SONIC ALARM –

HOLD BUTTON FOR 2 SECONDS

• Locate the button with the “alarm” symbol on the

front of your BodyGard

®

XL7 emergency tool.

• Press once to activate alarm.
• Press again and hold for 2 seconds to turn off.
CAUTION: Device emits loud noise to aid in warding
off attack. DO NOT place near ears.
NOTE: Be sure speaker on back is not obstructed.

• Remove the Tread Depth Indicator/Blade Cover/

XL7 tool.

• Insert the colored tip into the deepest tread on your

tire and see what color is visible.

• Repeat at various locations on both inner and outer

grooves and at
additional locations
around the
circumference of
the tire. This will
tell you if the tire is
wearing unevenly.

• GREEN means the

tread depth is fine.

• YELLOW means

you will need new
tires soon.

• RED means you

need new tires.

NOTE: Incorrect air pressure, poor wheel alignment,
worn parts, etc., can cause rapid or uneven tire wear.
Check for wear patterns often to detect problems
before excessive or irregular tread wear ruins the tire.

• Ensure the batteries are installed

correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).

• Remove batteries if they are spent or if

product is unused for long periods of time.

• Always replace the whole set of batteries

at one time. DO NOT mix old and new.

• DO NOT MIX batteries of different types,

such as Alkaline, Standard (carbon-zinc)
and/or Rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
