Care and MaIntenanCe

• The water fill valve requires no additional maintenance once it is set to the desired

water level.

• Regular pond maintenance, such as removing debris from the skimmer bag will

help the water fill valve operate accurately.

• Winter preparation -

the water fill valve will not operate during extended freezing

temperatures. Simply detach brass garden hose adaptor from water spigot. No

additional steps need to be taken to clear water from the 1/2” poly-pipe irrigation.

Drill a 7/8 inch hole, one inch

below the ridge of skimmer.

Exact location for the water fill

valve will be different for each

skimmer. Just be sure that the

drill hole will be well above the

final water level.

Remove brass hex

nut, from threaded

end of float valve,

leaving only the

rubber washer on the

fill valve.

Insert threaded end of fill

valve through the 7/8 inch

hole drilled in the skimmer.

Note: rubber washer must be located

on the inside of the skimmer wall.

Tighten brass hex

nut, securing the

fill valve to the

skimmer box.

Thread the plastic adapter

(Part C or E) to the threaded

end of the fill valve. If using

Part C, be sure to use PVC

Primer and glue before

connecting pipe. If using

part E, slide tubing over

fitting and secure with

hose clamps provided.

When connecting to irrigation system, bury the pipe in the ground going back to the water source. If connecting to a sprinkler system, you may need to contact

a local irrigation specialist for help.

When connecting to a

garden hose, use the

brass adapter to connect

the AutoFill to the

graden hose.

adjustIng the Water FIll ValVe

• Initial positioning of fill valve arm can be made by loosening thumb screw & wing nut found

on the axel of the fill valve arm and adjusting the angle of the arm. Note: Axle point on arm

can be stripped if the thumb screw & wing nut are not loosened

prior to adjustment (see diagram A to right).

• Final adjustments of the fill valve should be made

while the pump

is operating and the water in the pond is at the desired level.

• Final adjustments can be made by

simply bending the fill arm

until the fill valve shuts the water off at the desired level. (see

diagram B to right).
