2. Staple upholstery to hold it to the core around the holes.
3. Carefully cut a slit in the upholstery to match size of each hole.
4. Hold Headrest with tab at top. Insert tab into top hole, and posts

into horizontal holes.

5. Working from interior of the seat, find the screw dimple above the

Bolster opening in the core.

6. Insert a plastic thread forming screw (2"-long x 1/4" dia.) horizontally

through the screw dimple and drive it into post at the base of the
Left Armrest.
CAUTION: To avoid stripping the thread, DO NOT exceed
40 in./lbs of torque.

7. Repeat procedure on opposite side.
8. On the back side of the seat, find the screw dimple at the top of

the back panel opening. (Figure 4)

9. Insert a plastic thread forming screw (2"-long x 1/4" dia.) horizontally

through the screw dimple and drive it into the Headrest tab.
DO NOT exceed 40 in./lbs of torque.

Attach Optional Cargo Panel
1. To trim and staple upholstery prior to Cargo Panel installation, use

the edge of the Core Recess as a cutting guide. No upholstery
should be trapped under the Cargo Panel frame.

2. Press Cargo Panel frame into the Core Recess. (Figure 5)
3. Insert a plastic thread forming screw (1"-long x 1/4" dia.) through

screw hole in Cargo Panel. Drive into Seat Core. DO NOT exceed
40 in./lbs of torque.

4. Repeat with remaining screw holes.

NOTE: Attwood recommends using at least 6 screws to
attach Cargo Panel.
The exact number of screws may depend
on the upholstery process and the customer’s final product.

5. Snap the Trim Ring tabs into the Cargo Panel frame holes.

Attach Optional Bolster
1. Compress upholstered Bolster so it fits within Seat Core. Engage

“bowtie” of Bolster into matching cutout on Core. (Figure 6)

2. Release compression. Be sure that Bolster swings up and

down smoothly.

Install the Seat Pan
1. Lift the Bolster. (Figure 7)
2. Slide the Seat Pan under the Bolster. Align positioning posts

on bottom of Seat Pan with openings in the Seat Core bottom.

3. Install two screws through the bottom of the core into the Seat Pan.
4. Lower the Bolster.

Attach Seat Pan and Seat Core to the Pedestal
1. Place Matrix Seat onto pedestal mounting plate. Working from

bottom, insert four 1/4-20 x 1-1/4" stainless screws up through
pedestal mounting plate and into the bottom of the core. (Figure 8)

2. Torque bolts to 40 in./lbs tightness. To avoid stripping threads, DO

NOT over-torque. DO NOT use thread-locking compound on screws.
