• This device is designed to mount flat screens
weighing up to 66 lbs (maximum weight load).

If you do not understand these directions or you have
any doubt about the safety of the installation, please
call a qualified contractor or contact Salamander
Designs Customer Service.
Salamander Designs cannot be held liable for any
damage or injury caused by incorrect mounting,
incorrect assembly, or incorrect use.

“Qualified Contractor” would mean a qualified
person who has valid educational qualifications to
handle similar kind of work, as well as holds all
required licenses.

Long-term storage: Store the PILOTMOTION in a
clean, dry and temperate environment.
Recommended temperature of the storage area:
Between 32°F and 104 °F. Relative Humidity
tolerated: 85% maximum, non-condensing.

• Set-up: The PILOTMOTION must be mounted
indoors and on a flat and vertical wall, solid enough
to hold the weight load.

The PILOTMOTION can be mounted on a solid wall
(concrete, solid bricks…) or on drywall mounted on the
center of 2 wood studs, or on a single stud.
The PILOTMOTION cannot be mounted on drywall
with metal studs, or on drywall with a distance larger
than 17” between wood studs, or on old cinder block
walls. Should you have any doubt on your wall
material or its strength (resistance), please ask a
Qualified Contractor.
Before installation, check carefully to make sure there
are no missing or defective parts. Our Customer Care
Service representatives would be pleased to answer
any questions that may arise concerning installation, or
any missing or damaged parts.
During installation, please follow the user guide
instructions carefully and take every precaution to
avoid any injuries or damaging of materials.
Do not mount the PILOTMOTION or the wall plate on
electrical cables, in order to avoid any cable damage
(Electrocution and fire risks).

When the PILOTMOTION is in use, ensure the
following precautions are adhered to:
No obstacle
should hinder the movement of the screen.
Provide for the necessary clearance space around the
PILOTMOTION and screen set.
Do not position any objects next to the PILOTMOTION
that may hinder the movement of the screen on
its support.
Do not allow access to its mechanism, or restrict the
performance of the stops enabling the screen
movement to come to a halt, otherwise these may be
crushed or pinched during operation.
Always ensure children are at a safe distance from the
equipment when in operation.
Do not swing on the PILOTMOTION.
The system should not operate continuously. It
should not perform more than 10 cycles to the
left/right per hour.

Handling: Make sure you remove the flat screen and
the wall plate before relocating the PILOTMOTION.

When using an electrical furnishing, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

D A N G E R - To reduce the risk of electric shock:

• Always unplug this product from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

WARNING - To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to persons:

• Unplug from outlet before putting on or taking off parts

• Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by, or near children,

invalids, or disabled persons.

• Use this product only for its intended use as described in these instructions.

Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

• Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not

working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.

Return the product to a service center for examination and repair.

• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and from children.

• Never operate the product with the air openings blocked. Keep the air

openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

• Do not use outdoors.

• Do not affix this product where it could fall on a chair, couch, bed, crib, or

any other place where a person, child or animal may be sitting, lying, resting or

sleeping, as any accidental fall of the product or the screen could cause

serious injury or death.

• Do not affix this product to a ceiling, a tilting wall or surface or in a moving

vehicle.

• Do not operate this product less than five feet from a sink, bathtub, shower

and or faucet.

• Do not affix this product less than five feet from any household appliance

such as refrigerator, stove or microwave oven.

• Do not affix or operate less than 20 feet from a swimming pool.

• Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where

oxygen is being administered.

• To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.

• This product, its parts and its packaging, and/or any part thereof, are no

suitable for use by children and may be hazardous to them. Keep away the

same from children at all times.

Important Safety Instructions

For your own safety, never dismount the PILOTMOTION
covers without having disconnected the power
supply cable.
Do not ever slide the PILOTMOTION on the wall plate
with the screen still mounted.
Do not ever remove the security bolts while the screen is
still mounted to the PILOTMOTION.

In the event of a malfunction:
• Check to ensure that the power cord and remote sensor
are connected to the PILOTMOTION.

• Check to ensure the cables are in good condition.
• Reset the electronic board: Unplug the PILOTMOTION
power supply cable, wait for 10 seconds, and plug the
screen back in.
• Check to ensure the remote control battery (lithium 3V
CR2025) is in working condition and make sure the tab

on the remote has been pulled to remove the plastic film.
• Check all of the connections.
If the malfunction persists, please contact our customer

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Unpacking

Unpack all of the parts and check to ensure that all
of the parts shown on the drawing on page 5 are in
proper condition.

To help protect the environment, use the
appropriate recycling and discarding methods for
the packaging items.
The boxes used for the packaging of this product
may be recycled or re-used.
