•The speed of advance (reverse) is relatively slow at first.
When the button is pressed again, the speed becomes fast­
er. (Each time the button is pressed, the speed increases up
to 5 steps.)
•The speed will be retained even after the button is released.
•Normal play is resumed when PLAY is pressed.
Note:
•You can search forward and backward only within the current
disc.
For your reference:
•When SEARCH (◄◄, ►►) or SLOW/SEARCH (◄◄, ►►)
is used during menu play of Video CDs with playback control,
a menu screen may sometimes be recalled.
•For DVDs and Video CDs, audio will be heard during scan­
ning (forward direction only) at the initial scan speed. (See
page 44.) For CDs, audio will be heard during scanning at
every scan speed (1 to 5).
Frame advance (Frame reverse)

Press the cursor buttons (^, in the still pic­
ture mode. (See page 22.)

•The disc is advanced (reversed) by one frame each time the
cursor button (◄, ►) is pressed.
•When the cursor button (◄, ►) is kept pressed, consecutive
frame advance (reverse) works.
• Normal play is resumed when PLAY is pressed.

Enjoying Video CDs with
playback control without using
menus
[Video CD]_______________________
1. Press STOP after the menu screen appears (after step 5 on
page 19).
(“PBC” will be cleared from the player’s FL display.)
2. Press the numeric buttons to select the preferred track.
(Play begins.)
•Refer to the jacket etc. of the disc concerned for the track
numbers.
• Press “1" to start play from the beginning of the disc.
To return to menu play
Press STOP to stop playback and press MENU.
(“PBC" will light up on the player’s FL display and the menu
screen is resumed.)
Perform step 6 on page 19.
Note:
•For Video CDs, frame reverse is not possible.
For your reference:
•Pressing PAUSE also activates frame advance.
•Whether the pictures are advanced by a “Frame" or “Field" is
automatic. (See page 44.)
