5. Hi-Pass Output Jack

The High Pass Output jack is

used to connect a full range

cabinet to the UCS1P. It’s out-

put is a 0 dB (unbalanced) /

-6 dB (balanced) signal with

a high-pass filter applied to

it. The frequency of the filter

is controlled by the HP-Rolloff

Frequency control.

User Tip: Use this output

in conjunction with the HP

Rolloff Frequency control to

adjust the crossover point

between your UCS1P and

full-range cabinets.

Note: If your full-range cabinet

has it’s own HP Rolloff control, as

in the Unity™ U15P, simply use

the Link jack to provide signal to

that cabinet.

6. Hi-Pass Output Rolloff (Hz) Control

The HP Output Rolloff Frequency control varies

the frequency at which the UCS1P rolls off the

low frequencies to the Hi-Pass Output jack.

This provides part of a crossover function to full

range cabinets that do not come equipped

with a low frequency rolloff adjustment.

7. LINK Jacks

The Link jacks are set up to make it easy to

hook up your UCS1P to any audio system with

a minimum of hassles. Since all of the Link jacks

are connected in parallel, you can use them to

daisy-chain other UCS1Ps (or full range enclo-

sures). As well as accommodating full range

enclosures, the Link jacks allow many UCS1Ps

to be connected in a string

(parallel). There is no practi-

cal limit to the number of

UCS1Ps that may be con-

nected together.

Note: The UCS1P may be

plugged in before or after the

full range enclosure. The UC-

S1P does not alter the signal to

the daisy chained enclosures

and will not draw any power

from the host amplifier/proces-

sor driving them. Also, note

that an external crossover is

not necessary when using the

UCS1P.

8. Protection

The UCS1P has circuitry to

prevent clipping, over cur-

rent and over excursion. At high levels, the

limiter will limit the gain of the UCS1P. Hence, if

the user attempts to set the subwoofer level

control initially with a high level input signal,

the resulting setting may be incorrect. The

level control should be set while the system

is in operation and at a level where the Limit

indicator is always off. If the level control is set

unnecessarily high, the input circuit will clip

and the dynamics of the bass will be lost. The

red clip indicator will signify when this occurs.

This can happen without audible distortion

since the filters will filter out the distortion.

Note: The UCS1P built-in stand mounting adapter can be used with Yorkville SW-Teletube accessory to support our

E10 cabinets. The support tube can be adjusted up to it’s full 5-foot 4-inch extension safely as long as the UCS1P is

not inclined mor than 10° (10-degrees).

WARNING: Larger or heavier cabinets shound not be used!
