PFD Attachment Instructions

Instructions For Attachment Of Rescue Lights To Personal Floatation Devices

(PFDs) To Comply With USCG Regulation 161.012 & FAA TSO-C85b

ACR Electronics, Inc. suggests one of the following methods for the attachment of the ACR Firefly

3

® or

Firefly

3

® Waterbug™ (MS-2000) to your PFD.

1) The MS-2000 can be attached to kapok type PFDs by means of the nylon “TY-RAP” cable tie

supplied with the light. The TY-RAP can be inserted through two (2) holes punched into the seam

allowance at the arm hole. See Figure 1.

2) On vinyl dipped PFDs, the TY-RAP can be inserted through the webbing that forms the body

strap at the side of the device. See Figure 2.

3) For original equipment manufacturers, we suggest sewing a rubberized canvas pocket onto the

PFD. This pocket should have a 3/4" hole punched in one side. See Figure 3. The MS-2000 light

can be placed into the pocket and retained by the TY-RAP as shown.
