ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec)
Il s’agit du codec pour la méthode de compression audio sans perte
développée par Apple Inc. Ce codec peut être lu sur iTunes, iPod ou
iPhone. Les données compressées à environ 60 – 70 % peuvent être
décompressées aux mêmes données d’origine.
FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
FLAC signifie Free lossless Audio Codec, et représente un format de
fichier audio libre sans perte. Sans perte signifie que le son est compressé
sans perte de qualité.

LFE
Abréviation de Low Frequency Effect, un canal de sortie accentuant l’effet
de basse fréquence sonore. Le son surround est intensifié par la
production de basses profondes de 20 Hz à 120 Hz vers le(s)
subwoofer(s) du système.
MP3 (MPEG Audio Layer-3)
Il s’agit d’un format de compression des données audio normalisé au plan
international qui utilise la norme de compression vidéo “MPEG-1”. Il
compresse le volume de données à environ un onzième de sa taille initiale
tout en conservant une qualité de son équivalente à celle d’un CD musical.
