2 Press or to select the V-Chip menu .
The V-Chip menu opens.
3 Press or repeatedly to highlight Age,
then press or to set the Age option to
Child, Youth, Youth Adult, Adult, or
Custom.
Each Age setting changes the rating settings
accordingly.
4 Press MENU or EXIT to close the menu.
To custom set the Parental Control level:
1 Press the MENU button. The on-screen
menu opens to the Audio menu.
2 Press or to select the V-Chip menu .
The V-Chip menu opens.
3 Press or repeatedly to highlight Age,
then press or to set the Age option to
Custom.
4 To set the MPAA rating, press or
repeatedly to highlight MPAA Rating, then
press or to set the rating to G, PG,
PG-13, R, NC-17, X, or Off.
5 To set the TV rating, press or
repeatedly to highlight PG Rating. The
Rating window opens.
6 Press or to move to a rating, then press
or , to block (B), or unblock (U) that rating.
When you block a rating, that rating and all
higher ratings are blocked. When you unblock
a rating, that rating and all lower ratings are
unblocked.
7 To set the Can.English rating, press or
to move to Can.English, then press or , to
set the rating to E, C, C8+, G, PG, 14+, or
18+.
8 To set the Can.French rating, press or
to move to Can.French, then press or , to
set the rating to E, G, 8+, 13+, 16+, or 18+.
9 Press MENU or EXIT button to close the
menu.

ratings also have content-based ratings.
Canadian English MPAA Ratings
Rating Description
OFF Not rated.
G General audiences.
PG Parental guidance suggested. Some
material may not be suitable for
children.
PG-13 Parental guidance strongly suggested.
Some material may not be suitable for
children under 13 years of age.
R Restricted. Not suitable for children
under 17 years of age unless
accompanied by a parent or guardian.
NC-17 Not suitable for children under 17
years of age.
X Adults only.
Rating Description
NONE Not rated.
TV-Y All children.
TV-Y7 Children over seven years of age.
TV-G General audiences.
TV-PG Parental guidance suggested.
TV-14 Parents strongly cautioned.
TV-MA Mature audiences only.
