front wheels may also

need to be installed.

Install these in the

same manner as the

rear wheels.

NOTE: When you
wish to mow instead
of mulch, simply raise
the chute deflector,
grasp the handle on
the mulching baffle and
lift upward to remove
the baffle. It is not
necessary to remove
the mulching blade.

5. Rope guide Setup as follows, see Figure 5:

a. Hold the blade control against the upper handle.

Position A.

b. Slowly pull starter rope out of engine. Position B.
c. Slip starter rope into the rope guide. Tighten rope

guide wing nut. Position C.

6. Installing the rear wheels.

a. Place the rear of the mower deck on raised

blocks.

b. Remove the lock nut from the pivot arm as-

sembly

(on select models, these may be included

separately in a plastic bag)

, slide wheel, with

hollow side in, onto pivot arm and secure with lock
nut.See Figure 6.

c. Assemble the other side in the same manner.

Ea

ch wheel has a height adjustment lever to change

the cutting height of the mower. To change the height
of cut, squeeze adjuster lever toward the wheel,
moving up or down to selected height. See Figure 7.

8. If your mower is equipped with an optional mulching

baffle, install it as shown in Figure 8.
a. Lift up and hold the side-discharge chute deflector

and inse

rt bottom lip of the mulching baffle inside

the chute opening.

b. Push the hooks on the top of the baffle until they

snap over the hinge on the discharge chute.
Release the chute deflector.

relative position. For

rough or uneven lawns,

move the height adjust-

ment lever to a higher

position. This will stop

scalping of grass.
