5.2 - BEFORE RECORDING

• Place an NP1B (fully charged) battery in the rear housing of the recorder.

• Set the "POWER ON/OFF" switch on the recorder to ON.

• Press the "BATT.CHECK" button and check that the pointer is over the green sector.

5.2.1 - On the camera

5.2.1.1 - Preset the controls

Place the controls in the following positions:

• on the lens:

- "AUTO/MAN" switch to AUTO,

- Extender withdrawn.

• on the camera:

- "BALANCE" switch to (MEM) A or (MEM) B position.

5.2.1.2 - Power on

Apply power to the equipment by setting the "SAVE-ON" switch on the camera to "SAVE"
or "ON". Select the operating mode and configure the various operating settings.

5.2.2 - On the viewfinder

5.2.2.1 - Viewfinder settings

1. Set the "PICT" selector switch to the rear to obtain the test pattern in the viewfinder.

Adjust the viewfinder light and contrast to obtain a correct image in the viewfinder.

2. Set the "PICT" selector switch to the forward position to obtain the picture video in

the viewfinder.

5.2.2.2 - Grey scale settings

1. Fit the density filter appropriate to the scene lighting conditions (electrically from the

menu, or manually).

2. Run an automatic black balance cycle, followed by an automatic white balance cycle.

5.2.2.2.1 - Black automatic balance

Set the "WHT - BLK" switch to BLK:

• the iris closes automatically,

• the "BLK RUN" indication appears in the viewfinder,
