your Breville Product
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any promotional material attached
to your kettle. It is recommended that before
fi rst use, the kettle is fi lled to the maximum
level with cold tap water then boiled.
Discard the water. Your kettle will only
operate when positioned on the power base
with the ‘On/Off’ switch in the ‘On’ position.
The kettle will automatically switch off once
the water has boiled.
OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
To fi ll the kettle, remove it from the power
base and open the lid by pressing the lid
release button. Fill with the desired amount
of water.
NOTE
Always fi ll the kettle between the
minimum (MIN) and maximum
(MAX) marks on the water window.
Too little water will result in the kettle
switching ‘Off’ before the water has
boiled. Filling above maximum (MAX)
mark may result in boiling water
splashing from the kettle.
Close the lid, ensuring it is locked fi rmly
into place. Position the kettle securely onto
the power base and insert the power plug
into a 110/120V power outlet.
Press the ‘On/Off’ switch to the ‘On’
position for water to boil.
NOTE
To operate correctly, the kettle should
always be used with the scale fi lter
fi rmly in place.
NOTE
This kettle must only be used with
the power base supplied. Use caution
when pouring water from your kettle,
as boiling water will scald. Do not
pour the water too quickly.
The kettle will automatically switch ‘Off’
once the water has boiled. Lift the kettle
from the power base and pour the water.
Take care to hold the kettle level, especially
when fi lled to the maximum level. To re-boil
it may be necessary to wait for a few seconds
to allow the control to reset.
If further heating of the kettle is not
required, unplug the power cord and empty
the water from the kettle. Replace the kettle
onto the power base and close the lid.
SAFETY BOIL DRY PROTECTION
The kettle is fi tted with a safety device which
protects against overheating should the kettle
be operated with insuffi cient water. If this
occurs, the kettle will stop heating. Allow
kettle to cool before refi lling. Remove the
kettle from the power base and add water.
Return the kettle to the power base. The
safety device will then automatically reset.
For additional safety, your kettle is fi tted
with an additional thermal cut out. In
the event of overheating, the kettle will
automatically shut down to prevent further
damage. Should this occur, contact Breville
Consumer Service.
WARNING
This appliance is designed for boiling
drinking quality water only. Never
use to heat or boil any other liquids
or foodstuffs. The lid should always
be fi rmly in place and locked into the
closed position before use.
WARNING
Do not press the lid release button
on the handle to open the lid during
operation. This may result in boiling
water splashing from the kettle. Pour
out all the hot water from the kettle
before opening the lid to refi ll.
